IBPS Clerk Recruitment 2019 Steps


The IBPS Clerk Exam is conducted within two phases – IBPS Clerk Prelims and IBPS Clerk Main Exam.


  • Firstly, the candidates are required to appear in the IBPS Clerk Prelims Exam and qualify it.
  • If they succeed in qualifying the IBPS Clerk Prelims Exam only then, they can appear in IBPS Clerk Main Phase otherwise, they will be eliminated.
  • On the basis of their performance in Main Exam, a merit list will be prepared.
  • These shortlisted candidates were allotted their banks on the basis of their bank preferences (filled at the time of online application).

  • Important: The candidates are required to score more than the cutoff marks (sectional + overall) to qualify the Prelims and Main Exam.

The recruitment procedure ends after provisional allotment. And then, the allotted banks perform the further procedure for candidates joining.

IBPS Clerk Cut Off Marks


Every candidate who is going to aspire IBPS Clerk should be very well aware of the qualifying criteria for all the two phases – Prelims and Mains.


As per the IBPS Guidelines, the candidates who score more than the cut off marks are declared as qualified in the exam. There are two types of cut off marks for both the exams- Sectional Cutoff and Overall Cutoff
