IBPS Clerk 2016 Recruitment Steps

The IBPS Clerk Exam is conducted within two phases – IBPS Clerk Prelims and IBPS Clerk Main Exam.

  • Firstly, the candidates are required to appear in the Prelims and qualify it.
  • If they succeed in qualifying the prelim exam only then, they can appear in IBPS Clerk Main Phase otherwise, they will be eliminated.
    Important: The candidates are required to score more than the cutoff marks (sectional + overall) to qualify the Prelims and Main Exam.
  • On the basis of their performance in Main Exam, a merit list will be prepared.
  • These shortlisted candidates were allotted their banks on the basis of their bank preferences (filled at the time of online application).

The recruitment procedure ends after provisional allotment. And then, the allotted banks perform the further procedure for candidates joining.

In this process, the allotted banks send emails containing each and every detail about joining to their finalized candidates.

IBPS Clerk Cut Off Marks

Every candidate who is going to aspire IBPS Clerk should be very well aware of the qualifying criteria for all the two phases – Prelims and Mains.

As per the IBPS Guidelines, the candidates who score more than the cut off marks are declared as qualified in the exam.

There are two types of cut off marks for both the exams- Sectional Cutoff and Overall Cutoff

  • Beside clearing the sectional and total cut-off, you also need to score more marks than your category's cut-off so that you can get an interview call.
  • It is recommended to score as much as possible in the Mains Exam, so that the interview marks do not affect your overall marks needed to get a bank allotment through IBPS.
  • The deeper you get in the recruitment process, the tougher the completion is. So, it is necessary to score more than other candidates to get finally selected.

After successful completion of IBPS Clerk Main Exam, the final IBPS Clerk Result will be declared. The candidates will be assessed on the basis of their performance in Main Exam.
