What is the IBPS SO Recruitment 2018 Procedure? Know the Latest Notifications and Exam Dates!

TThe official website will release the IBPS SO 2018 Notifications and Tentative Exam Dates for IBPS CWE SPL-VIII soon.

IBPS SO Recruitment 2018 Procedure

  • To get recruited on the Bank Specialist Officer position in any reputed IBPS Banks, candidates must clear the online test followed by the Interview Session.
  • Those who perform well in the online test and get qualified will be considered for Interview.
    [Only the professional language’s marks will be considered for Interview. But the candidates must score passing marks in other subjects as well.]
  • The IBPS Experts will judge the candidates and shortlist them based on their combined performance in Online Test and Interview.
  • After that, the Final Result will be declared along with the list of provisional allotments done by the Exam Convener Authority - IBPS.
  • The candidates will be notified about their Joining through the mail sent by respected banks only.

The Exam Pattern was changed. The candidates were allotted a time limit for each section to attempt the questions within the given time.

There were 50 questions from each section in the IBPS SO 2017 question paper.

The sections other than professional language were not allotted any maximum marks.

The candidates had to score only qualifying marks in the Reasoning, General English, Quantitative Aptitude and General Awareness Section.

As per the IBPS SO Exam 2017 Selection Procedure, the candidates were selected for the interview session only based on their marks in the Professional Knowledge section.

This time only 20 banks participated in the Recruitment of Specialist Officer. Earlier in 2016 year, the number was 24.

The IBPS SO 2017 Recruitment Vacancies were 4122.

Things you should avoid carrying in the IBPS SO Exam!

  • Any communication device like - Mobile Phone, Bluetooth, Earphones, Microphone, Pager, Health Band etc.
  • Other items like - Goggles, Handbags, Hair-pin, Hair-band, Belt, Cap, etc.
  • All ornament like Ring, Earrings, Nose-pin, Chain/Necklace, Pendants, Badge, brooch etc. should be thoroughly checked.
  • Any watch/Wrist Watch, Camera, etc.
  • Any metallic item.
  • Any eatable item opened or packed, water bottle etc.
  • Any other item which could be used for unfair means for hiding communication devices like camera, Bluetooth devices etc.
  • Any infringement of these instructions shall entail cancellation of candidature and disciplinary action including ban from future examinations.


  • Candidates are advised in their own interest not to bring any of the banned items to the venue of the examination, as an arrangement for their safekeeping cannot be assured.
  • IBPS or any agency engaged in the conduct of the online examination shall not take any responsibility for loss of any of the items.
