IBPS SO Recruitment 2018 Procedure

  • To get recruited on the Bank Specialist Officer position in any reputed IBPS Banks, candidates must clear the online test followed by the Interview Session.
  • Those who perform well in the online test and get qualified will be considered for Interview.
    [Only the professional language’s marks will be considered for Interview. But the candidates must score passing marks in other subjects as well.]
  • The IBPS Experts will judge the candidates and shortlist them based on their combined performance in Online Test and Interview.
  • After that, the Final Result will be declared along with the list of provisional allotments done by the Exam Convener Authority - IBPS.
  • The candidates will be notified about their Joining through the mail sent by respected banks only.

What’s New in IBPS SO 2018 Exam?





1. There will be two phases in the IBPS SO 2018 exam – Prelims & Mains.


2. Total Vacancies - 1315

3. Marks obtained in Prelims will be considered for getting into Mains Exam only. The final evaluation of candidate will be based on Marks scored in Mains & interview.


4. The marking scheme of each section has been changed significantly. The updated time duration of Specialist Officer exam will be as follows:
Prelims: 2 hours
Mains: 45 minutes


5. The Exam Dates for IBPS SO Prelims Exam will be 30th & 31st December 2017. On 28th January 2018, the Mains Exam will be conducted for Prelims qualifying candidates.


6. The validity for CRP SPL-VII will automatically expire at the close of business on 31st March 2019 with or without giving any notice.

IBPS SO Officer Salary Structure


Basic Salary - 23700/- INR

DA - 47.8% of Basic for the months of August, September and October 2017 (Revised every 3 months, depends on CPI)

Special Allowance with DA - 7.75% of (Basic + DA)

HRA - 9% or 8% or 7.0% (depends on posting location).

CCA - This also depends on the place of posting and can be either 4% (maximum Rs.870/-) or 3%(Maximum Rs.600/-) or even 0% in some cases.

Other Allowances- Medical, Conveyance (Petrol Reimbursement), Newspaper etc.

The Gross Annual CTC (with HRA but without leased accommodation) of the officer post at Scale 1 is Rs. 5,57,640.52 inclusive of all the components.

  • All ornament like Ring, Earrings, Nose-pin, Chain/Necklace, Pendants, Badge, brooch etc. should be thoroughly checked.
  • Any watch/Wrist Watch, Camera, etc.
  • Any metallic item.
  • Any eatable item opened or packed, water bottle etc.
  • Any other item which could be used for unfair means for hiding communication devices like camera, Bluetooth devices etc.
  • Any infringement of these instructions shall entail cancellation of candidature and disciplinary action including ban from future examinations.
