Assistant Loco Pilot Job Profile, Scope & Career Growth


Loco pilot is the post in which employee assists the drivers which pilots the train. Loco Pilot gives the right directions to the piloting person according to the signal lights.

Candidates will assist Driver in performing his duties including calling out signal as soon as one is sighted, fine-tuning Loco and attending minor repairs of the Loco.

Railway Recruitment Board has announced the Vacancies for RRB ALP & Technician Recruitment in 2018 according to Common Employment Notification (CEN 01/2018).


Accordingly, to that notification RRBs have enhanced and revised the vacancies which are as follow –

  • RRB have released the result for RRB ALP first stage on 2 November. The candidates can check score for RRB ALP stage 1 and Exam date for Stage 2 CBT from official website.

  • Due to the discrepancies in the Questions and Answers in RRB ALP CEN 01/2018. The RRB has released the Revised Answer Keys, final Cutoff marks and Results on 20th Dec 2018. Candidates must check out the official website for Revised results.

  • The second stage exam for RRB ALP & Technician is from 21st, 22nd and 23rd January 2019.

Selection Procedure for Loco Pilot - Know the Process, Tests & Stages


To get selected in the Indian Railways Loco Pilot Recruitment, candidates will have to appear in the First Stage CBT, Second Stage CBT, Computer Based Aptitude Test, and Document Verification

The complete procedure for the recruitment Process is given below



First Stage CBT (Common for ALP/Tech.)


The common for exam both Assistant Loco Pilot and Technician is the First Stage Computer Based Test.

Total No of Questions- 75 Questions
Exam Duration- 60 Minutes

Subjects-

  • Mathematics
  • General Intelligence and Reasoning
  • General Science
  • General Awareness

Qualifying Marks

The candidates must secure the minimum percentage in the first stage exam to appear in the next stage.

The Minimum percentage for eligibility in various categories is as follows

Unreserved Candidates- min 40% marks
OBC Candidates- min 30% marks
SC Candidates- min 30% marks
ST candidates- min 25% marks



Second Stage CBT


The candidates shortlisted in the First Stage CBT Exam would be eligible for the Second Stage CBT Exam as per the merit list.

The Second Stage Exam would be conducted in two Phases Part A and part B.

Part A

Total No of Questions- 100 Questions
Exam Duration- 90 Minutes

Subjects-

  • Mathematics
  • General Intelligence and Reasoning
  • Basic Science and Engineering
  • General Awareness and Current Affairs

Qualifying Marks-The qualification marks for Part B exam would be Same as CBT First Stage exam.



Part B

Total No of Questions- 75 Questions
Exam Duration- 60 Minutes

Subjects-

  • The Part B Exam is of Qualifying nature whereas the questions asked would be from the Trade Subjects (Degree/Diploma/ITI/HSC)

Qualifying Marks- The Minimum Qualification for all category candidates shortlisted in Part B is 35 %.

RRB ALP & Technician Result 2018 – Check Final Marks, Cut Offs, Merit List
