What is SSC CPO SI Exam - SI/ASI in Delhi Police / CAPF / CISF


What is SSC CPO SI Exam?

SSC CPO (Central Police Organization) SI exam is conducted by Staff Selection Commission to select candidates to be appointed on the post of Sub Inspector (SI) in various organizations like Delhi Police & CAPF i.e. CRPF, CISF, BSF, SSB, ITBP etc.

Let's understand the post of SSC Sub Inspector

  • A sub-inspector (SI) is in command of few police personnel with head constables, the equivalent of corporals, commanding police outposts.
  • He is the lowest ranked officer who can file a charge sheet in court under Indian Police rules and regulations.
  • He is the first investigating officer.
  • Officers subordinate to him cannot file charge sheets, but can only investigate cases on his behalf.

 
 

SSC CPO Selection Procedure - Complete Details


SSC CPO Selection Procedure

The selection procedure for of the SSC CPO Exam will consists of written examination, physical efficiency test, personality test/interview and medical examination. These four phases can be elaborated as follows: -
A. Written Examination
B. Physical Endurance Test
C. Personality Test/ Interview
D. Medical Examination


A. Written Examination: Written examination is the first phase of the selection. The pattern of the exam has been explained above. Marks gained by the candidates in the written exam will be the basis for the candidates to appear for the second phase that is Physical Endurance Test (PET).


B. Physical Endurance Test: All the candidates who have cleared the written test, have to face the Physical Endurance Test (PET). Candidates shortlisted for PET/Medical Examination on the basis of their performance in Paper-I will only be called for Paper-II. Paper-II of only such candidates who qualify in PST/PET will be evaluated.


C. Personality Test/ Interview: The candidates who qualify in Paper I of written examination, PET and Paper II of written examination will be called for Personality Test/Interview on the basis of their combined performance in Paper-I and Paper-II.


D. Medical Examination: Candidates who qualify the PET will be called for medical examination and medically examined by the Medical Officer of the CAPFs or any other Medical Officer or Assistant Surgeon belonging to Grade I of any Central/State Government hospital/dispensary.

After clearing all the phases, candidates will be appointed for the Post of Sub Inspector by the governing authority.
