What is Staff Selection Commission (SSC)?


Staff Selection Commission conducts various Examinations/ Interviews, Open Competitive Exams, Departmental Exams for Promotions, Periodical Typewriting Test etc. to fulfill the recruitment of Group “B” and Group “C” posts in various ministries, departments & organizations under Central Government of India. Process of SSC GD Recruitment 2018 – Selection Procedure


The SSC has published the official notification for SSC GD Recruitment. Candidates can now apply for over half a lakh vacancy to get a central government job.

The selection procedure under the SSC GD Recruitment will follow the phases as stated below: -

Phase I: Written Examination (Computer Based Objective Exam)

This is the first stage of SSC GD Recruitment Process in which candidate have to answer Multiple-Choice Questions in the given time limit.


Phase II: Physical Standards Test/Physical Endurance Test

After the Written Test, the next step will be the SSC GD Physical Test in which candidate's physical fitness will be examnined. To appear in the Phase III of the SSC GD Exam, candidate have to clear the Physical Test Round.


Phase III: Medical Examination/ RME/ DME

Candidates after clearing the Physical Test Round have to face the final stage that is the Medical Examination.

SSC GD Constable Exam Eligibility Criteria


There are some criteria which are set by Staff Selection Commission for the candidates who want to apply for the SSC GD Exam and get the government job under police forces. The candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria for before filling up the application form. If they can’t fulfil the eligibility criteria, they will be rejected from the SSC GD Recruitment Process.

SSC GD Exam Pattern 2018 and Marking Scheme
